The DOC Friuli Grave is located between the provinces of Pordenone and Udine and here you can do Friuli Grave wine tasting. Here the climate is influenced by the conformation of the reliefs and the relative proximity of the Adriatic Sea. The Friuli Grave denomination dates back to 1970 and thanks to the commitment and professionalism of the winemakers the area has grown unequivocally, placing itself at the top of regional production with over 50% of the product.

The vines suitable for the production of DOC Friuli Grave wines are: Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco. Pinot Grigio, Riesling Renano, Sauvignon, Tocai Friulano, Traminer aromatico, Verduzzo friulano, Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Pinot Nero, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso.
The density of new plants cannot be less than 3,300 vines per hectare and the permitted training systems are Guyot, Cordone speronato, Sylvoz, Casarsa, Cappuccina or Doppio capovolto. The vinification processes are differentiated according to the types of wine. Basic one, with techniques designed to confer characteristic, classic and elegant aromas combined with a medium body capable of guaranteeing optimal pleasantness.
Wine superior is elaborated with the aim of producing more full-bodied wines while the riserva is identified with products of a higher structure while the riserva with more complex aromas and body that are donated, most of the time, by targeted refinements in wood. The sparkling wines have excellent finesse and intense aromatic set; the spumante wines are obtained by refermentation in the bottle or in an autoclave with the Charmat method.
