Conero DOCG Wines
Rosso Conero is produced with grapes grown exclusively on Mount Conero, which directly overlooks the Adriatic Sea. Aromatic persistence and intense fruity notes on the palate are the main characteristics of Rosso Conero. Intense ruby color with purple hues when young, changes to more mature, garnet and orange tones with aging, which can last even more than 10 years.
The tannin is more marked in young wines, but with the passage of time it gives way to a pleasant softness.
The vinosity of the younger Rosso Conero turns to fruit as the years go by and over time it takes on more and more notes of jam or morello cherries in alcohol. Rosso Conero is dry, crisp, characterized by a great pseudo-caloric sensation and long persistence.
These qualities are due to the low yield per hectare of the grapes. Also to the conformation of the land and the exclusive microclimate present on the promontory of Monte Conero. The younger Rosso Conero pairs very well with succulent dishes of white meat or roast poultry. Or with medium-aged cheeses, but they can also be accompanied by more fragrant and aromatic dishes.
The more refined and structured Rosso Conero pairs better with dishes of greater structure and succulence, such as grilled meat, stews, braised meats, game or venison, or large meat-based first courses such as pappardelle with wild boar. Rosso Conero should be served at a temperature of 18-20°C in medium-sized glasses with wide rims, decanting wines that have been aged for longer.
