The Collio Goriziano includes the northern hilly area of the province of Gorizia, between the Isonzo river to the east and the Judrio river to the west, with the state border to the north and here you can wine tasting Collio wines. The area is also close to the border with Slovenia. Collio thus defined includes about 1,500 hectares of vineyards that have large surfaces happily exposed to the sun, ideal for quality viticulture. The vineyards are located at an altitude that varies from 60 to 270 meters above sea level.

The white wines of Collio
have a pale straw yellow color, sometimes with greenish or more or less intense golden reflections depending on the grape variety and the winemaking techniques. The aromas are fruity, clean and intense, while on the palate a pleasant softness prevails, sometimes supported by a light hint of almond, typical of Tocai Friulano, the grape variety from which they originate. For wines destined for prolonged maturation, the vinification requires a short period of contact with the skins, giving life to wines with more intense golden reflections and greater body.
The red wines of Collio
have a bright ruby red color, the aroma is distinguished by the clear personality and the very fine herbaceous aroma. On the palate they have the rounded body deriving from ripe grapes and a week of fermentation in contact with the skins. The wines for aging start from a careful selection of the grapes and the fermentation time on the skins is extended by a few more days. Older wines show more or less complex tertiary aromas depending on the time spent in the wooden barrels.
