Lombardy Wine tastings

Lombardy is a very large region in terms of territory and therefore has areas with very different characteristics and where you can do Lombardy wine tastings. There are mountainous areas, such as Valtellina, and Valcamonica, hilly areas such as Oltrepò Pavese and flat areas such as Franciacorta. There are also areas with a particular microclimate, such as those around Lake Garda.

The vineyard area in Lombardy is 41% in the mountains, 12% in the hills, 47% in the plains. Red and rosé wines are produced 46%, white wines 54% and there are 5 DOCG, 23 DOC, 15 IGT.

The regional surface is flat for about half, mountainous for a further 40%. Just over 10% of the surface is hilly, and therefore lends itself to quality viticulture.
All this means that from a viticultural point of view, cultivations and productions are different depending on the area taken into consideration. Among the red grape varieties, it is worth mentioning Barbera, Nebbiolo, Bonarda, Uva Rara, Lambrusco, Croatina and Sangiovese. In addition to the native Groppello, Moscato di Scanzo, Pignola, Rossola Nera and Vespolina.

Among the white grape varieties, the most widespread in the area are the international Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay, which produce the excellent Franciacorta Classic Method sparkling wines. (Together with the dark-grape Pinot Noir), Riesling (Renano and Italico), Trebbiano di Lugana and the native Invernenga. Cellars of Lombardy are ready to welcome you and make you live an unforgettable experience by offering you various types of tastings that you can choose according to your needs.
